Veronica Garbacik

Veronica M. A�a�A"VernaA�a�A� Garbacik, 83, formerly of Reading, died April 22 at 5:15 a.m. in Berks Heim, where she had been a resident since 2002.

Her husband, Walter J. Garbacik, died Nov. 13, 1979.

Born in Harwood Mines, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Rose Woythko.

Garbacik had been employed for 16 years as an assistant manager by Kinney Shoe Corp., Reading, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Millmont.

Surviving is a son, Robert L., Reading.

Other survivors include two sisters, Suzan (Woythko) Schegan, Harwood, Luzerne County, and Katherine (Woythko) Kokinda, Hazleton, Luzerne County.

There are also two granddaughters and two stepgrandsons.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua RC Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
