Alphonso A. Ward, 69, of Exeter, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Debra L. Curlett-Ward, with whom he shared almost 36 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia in March 1957, he was the son of the late Alphonso A. Ward Sr. and Inell

(Stewart) Ward. During his life, Alphonso worked as a truck driver for over 35 years at various companies, including Tri-County Transit and Klein Bus Company.

Alphonso is survived by his wife, Debra L. Curlett-Ward of Exeter; his mother, Inell (Stewart) Ward of North Philadelphia; his son, Kevin Kennerly of Philadelphia; his daughter, Heather L. Barlow, fiancée of Seth Loose of Shartlesville; his grandchildren, Ian P. Barlow and Weston G. Loose; his sister, Patty Ward of South Carolina; his nephew, Jewan Jeffries of North Philadelphia; several great nieces and great nephews; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was predeceased by his sister Marcelle Ward and nephew, Alphonso Ward III.

His family would like to express gratitude to Mcglinn Cancer Ctr, his Dr's and nurses, and Tower Health Hospice.

Memorial services to honor Al will be on Saturday June 13th, 2026; receiving starts at 1:00pm, service at 2:00pm, at Shillington Church of Christ 475 Philadelphia Ave Reading, Pa 19607.
