Catherine Kernan

Catherine A. Kernan, 100, formerly of Reading, passed away on February 23, 2017 at Berks Heim.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Chester J. and Elsie M. (Price) Warfel.
She was the widow of James J. Kernan, who passed away on March 27, 2011.
Catherine was a loving and compassionate person. She was always very caring toward her nieces and nephews, and often acted as a second mother towards them.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her sisters: Margaret Reichardt, Helen Ubil, Eleanor Impink, and Marie C. Braun and brother: Wilbur Warfel.
She is survived by her sister: Dorothy Vogel of Texas and multiple nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives at church from 9-9:45AM. The interment will follow the Mass at Gethsemane Cemetery.
