Dennis Kolb Sweinhart, 77, of Fleetwood, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 8, 2024. He valiantly fought a thirteen-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, and despite this, Dennis maintained his faith, having accepted Christ at a young age, his love, courage, and faith helped him to preserve. Born in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel and Edith (Kolb) Sweinhart. He attended Congo Elementary School and graduated from Boyertown Area High School in 1964.

Dennis was a dedicated member of the U.S. Navy serving out of Norfolk, VA from 1965 through 1969 as a crew member of the USS John W. Weeks, U.S. Navy Destroyer. While serving in the Navy he learned and practiced the trade of electronics which he effectively applied professionally throughout his career. After he was honorably discharged from serving his country, Dennis was employed by the American Crane and Equipment in Douglassville, PA and later as a member of the Crane Maintenance Crew at Carpenter Technology, in Reading, PA.

Dennis is survived by his loving, committed and doting wife, Sara (Moyer) Sweinhart of 38 years of marriage; his four children Jennifer, wife of John Zelenak, Jeffrey husband of Debbie Sweinhart, Christopher David, and Danielle Capp. He is also survived by his three siblings, Karen Sweinhart, Michele Hartzel, Brendon Husband of Andrea Sweinhart, seven grandchildren, Emma Zelenak, Izaiah David, Henry Zelenak, Jack Zelenak, Luke Zelenak, Oliver Capp and Avery David: along with a host of relatives and friends.

It’s a “Sweinhart trademark” to be gifted with talents of the trades and Dennis spent his life working on and fixing all things, Dennis enjoyed applying his talents for repairs, problem solving every day and other hobbies, in his free time he was passionate about doing home improvements, working on cars, trucks, and other equipment, despite all his joys in life he was most passionate about being a loving husband to Sara. They enjoyed dinner at Shady Maple and in their early years, roller skating.

Dennis was a kindhearted and would always go out of his way for others. For those who knew him, he was often referred to as “the nicest guy you’ll ever meet”.

The family extends its gratitude to the hospice staff and all the friends and helpers who cared for him as the disease progressed over the past few years.
