Earl Mayer

Earl L. Mayer, 93, of Mohnton, passed away on Friday, November 27th, 2015 at 7:40 am in his home. He was the husband of Vera K. Mayer. Born in Berks County, he was the son of the late Edwin A. and Annie (Zuber) Mayer. He was a graduate and salutatorian of Mohnton High School Class of 1939. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, where he received a good conduct medal. Mr. Mayer enjoyed bird watching and loved nature. He was an Automotive Electrical Technician at the former Berks Auto Ignition in Reading for 44 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Kathryn E. Lilac, wife of Thomas Lilac of Mohnton and son Kenneth A. Mayer of Mohnton. Mr. Mayer is also survived by his granddaughters Jennifer Lilac Ulrich and Kristina Lilac. Mr. Mayer was preceded in death by his brother Paul Mayer; and sisters Mildred Hill and Margaret Horning.
