Edwin Javier Hernandez

Edwin Javier Hernandez,40, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Sandra Y. Hernandez and Lecadio Velez of Reading. Edwin loved music, soccer, and cars. He enjoyed gambling and dancing. He was loved by his family and friends and will be sincerely missed.

In addition to his mother and father he is survived by his daughter, Cassandra R. Hernandez; stepson, Andrew Petry; sisters, Jennifer V. Velez, significant other of Sergio Hernandez, of Exeter Township; Melissa Y. Galindo, of Reading; Kimberly P. Velez, of Reading; and several aunt, cousins, and friends.

Edwin was predeceased by his grandmother Nancy Hernandez.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church 322 S. 5^TH Street Reading, PA 19601 on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Charles Evans Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Whelan & Schwartz Funeral Home 444 North 9^th Street Reading, PA 19601 On Friday, April 14, 2023, from 8:00am-9:30am.
