Elizabeth "Betty" Innis, 98, of Leesport, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away February 19, 2026 at Reading Hospital, with her family at her side. She was the loving wife of Stuart F. Innis, for over 62 years prior to his passing in 2011.

Born in Newburgh, NY on January 24, 1928, Betty was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Taggart) McQuillan who had emigrated from Northern Ireland. She was a 1945 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and a 1946 graduate of the Spencerian Business School. She worked primarily as an administrative assistant for Sweet-Orr & Company, Firestone Tire and Rubber and retired from Materion in 1991 after 20 years of employment. She was a long-time member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ - Tuckerton.

Betty loved traveling, knitting, crafts and playing card games. Knitting was her passion and she took great pleasure in knitting hats and scarves for children and women at the homeless shelter for Christmas. But most of all she loved her family. She was a loving mother to her son Richard A. Innis, husband of Judy (Croneberger), of Reading, daughter Diane M. Papademetriou, wife of Stylianos, of Reading, as well as daughter-in-law Janet (Keely) Innis, of Exeter Township, wife of the late Thomas S. Innis. She was a loving grandmother to Caren Innis, Julie Innis, S. Alex Papademetriou, Metaxia Papademetriou, Cassandra Papademetriou, Jack Innis, Luke Innis and an adoring great-grandmother to Carter, Quinn, Colin, Elizabeth “Lizzy”, Charlotte “Lola”, Remy, and Theodora Betty.

In addition to her parents, husband Stuart and son Thomas, Bettyis predeceased by a son Kent S. Innis and a brother, William R. McQuillan.

Interment will be held privately at Good Shepherd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ - Tuckerton.
