Gemma Rose (Picucci) Welsh, 95, passed away on December 3rd, 2025. She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; her daughters, JoAnn (Ernie) Morrell, Diane (Joe) Wojciechowski, and Beth (Mike) Shor; her grandchildren, Chris Morrell, Lauren Swartz, Matt Wojciechowski, Kelly Wojciechowski, Jessica Wisniewski and Jaclyn Margolis. She was the proud great-grandmother of seven: Susannah, June, Ella, Maddie, Emma, Olivia, and Lenni. Gemma was predeceased by her siblings, Phyllis Gerlach and Michael Picucci.
Gemma and Tom started dating at their high school senior prom and have been together ever since. They were married for 74 years.
Gemma was born on September 25th, 1930 in Cleveland Ohio, grew up in Fountain Hill, Pa., and resided in Wyomissing Hills for many years.
She was a very talented painter, an accomplished bridge player, loved traveling, and enjoyed playing basketball in her younger years and watching it ever since. Gemma had such a comforting smile, was fun-loving, loved to entertain, and was a great friend to so many. In addition, with Tom, they owned Terre Ann Mfg., a sewing factory in Terre Hill, Pa.
Most of all, Gemma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church 2600 St. Alban's Drive, Sinking Spring, Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately by the family at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church Tuesday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.
