George Darinsig

George Darinsig, 87, of Reading, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at 7:30 am in Manor Care Health Services, Spring Township. He was the husband of Ruth E. (Jenkins) Darinsig. Born in Buck Run, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Novak) Darinsig. Mr. Darinsig was a reupholster at Diamond Furniture in Reading for over 30 years and then for Prestige Furniture and Upholstering and also worked in maintenance at Episcopal House in Reading since 2004. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children John J. Darinsig, husband of Tina Darinsig of Wernersville; Robert C. Darinsig, husband of Tracey Darinsig of Sinking Spring; David D. Darinsig, husband of Crystal Darinsig of Kutztown; Mary A. Darinsig of Florida and was preceded in death by his son Michael Darinsig, April 15, 2006. Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother Andrew Darinsig of Pottsville.
Funeral Service will be held in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home 444 North 9th Street Reading, Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 am. Reverend Mark M. Fesniak will officiate. Interment will follow in Nativity BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Whelan Schwartz Funerl Home Friday 10:00-11:00 am.
