Irene A. Slater

Irene A. Slater, 93, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at 10:58 pm at Reading Hospital.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Norman C. Slater, who passed away June 19, 2021.  Born in Reading, Mrs. Slater was the daughter of the late Andrew and Hattie (Michalak) Lucas.  She was employed by Lucent Technologies in Reading as an operator for 30 years retiring in 1987.  Mrs. Slater is survived by her daughters Gail H. Erwin wife of Dennis L. Erwin of Broomfield, Colorado and Michelle Renee Slater Gibson wife of Eric Gibson of Muhlenberg Township and her granddaughter Renee Michelle Gibson and her grandson Jason Gibson, Jr.    She is also survived by her sister Jeanette Firek of Wyomissing.
