Jerry C. Cobb

December 25, 1935 — March 28, 2024

Wernersville, PA

Jerry C. Cobb, 88, passed away March 28, 2024, at the Phoebe Berks Health Care Center in Wernersville, PA. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 64 years, Ann (Servis) Cobb and brother, Raymond Cobb, of Vassar, MI.

Born in Flint, MI, Jerry was the son of the late Tyrus and Josephine Cobb. He met his wife, Ann, while in high school in Vassar, MI and together they manned a Coney Island Hot Dog restaurant while starting their family. Jerry’s career as a food broker took the family from Avon, NY to Reading, PA.

Jerry was the consummate businessman, serving as the Chief Operating Officer for the G.H. Delp Company, owner of J.C. Cobb Specialty Foods, and Vice President of Sales at Clover Farms Dairy. Jerry valued personal connections above all else and concluded his career at the age of 84.

Throughout his life, Jerry sustained a lifelong love of harness racing, both as a spectator and an owner. He was known for his meticulous lawn care, unwavering devotion to the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), and his enthusiasm for watching Wilson sports, especially when his grandkids were playing. He also enjoyed a competitive game of Euchre whenever the opportunity arose.

Jerry will be fondly remembered for his dry sense of humor, unwavering dedication to his family, gentlemanly nature, and the ability to sing the most obscure of songs. He lived a good life leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by those who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his and Ann’s four children, Timothy (Marcia) Cobb of Sinking Spring PA, Dawn (Robert) Remus of Hickory NC, Jennifer (William) Griesemer of Wernersville PA, Heather (Robin) Craigen of Steamboat Springs CO; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren, who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
