Jerry M. Rodgers

Jerry Mack Rodgers, 90, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away at Berks Heim on 12/23/25. He was the spouse of Jeffrey Shannon whom he married on October 12, 2013, though they shared 46 years together.

Born in Belen, New Mexico, October 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Alfred and Tennie (Limb) Rodgers. Jerry graduated from Rutgers University in 1965 with his B.S. degree. He was the International Sales Manager of Arcways Stairs until his retirement in 2000.

His love of working with wood enriched his artistic talents by making a multitude of sculptures that graced his and many friend's homes. He was a lover of Opera, sang opera as a hobby, and loved to attend the Metropolitan Opera and Broadway in New York City. He was an aficionado of fine wines, food, and classical music. He had a love of antiques and frequently attended auctions to find that special piece to add to his collection. In his early years he was a deacon in the Church of Christ in New York City. He loved to travel and visited much of Europe, the Caribbean, and the states during his time in the Navy's Nuclear Submarine Program. He had a love for stamp collecting and had a substantial Spanish Revenue collection. He loved to cook and inspired himself to be a gourmet chef. His love of animals brought several dogs into his life and he will be dearly missed by his dachshund, Bella. He loved to visit his beach house in Bethany Beach , Delaware where he did much of his wood carving and relaxation.

Jerry is survived by his spouse, Jeffrey of Wyomissing, his brother John Rodgers, San Francisco; 2 sons, and 2 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews spread across the country. He was predeceased by his brothers, Don, Earl, Basil, and Burl, and sisters, Dovie and Muriel.
