John Donato

John A. "Big John" Donato, 65, of Blandon, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 2:25 pm in Penn State Health-St. Joseph. Born in Reading he was the son of the late John and Mary (Acker) Donato. He was a 1968 graduate of Reading High School and a 1972 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Anthropology and then served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. John was a welder at Reading Tube and truly loved his dogs.
Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 North 9th Street, Reading is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.whelanschwartz.com
