Lester P. Leininger, 84, a resident at Orwigsburg Manor, Schuylkill County, formerly of Reading, died Nov. 24 at 7:44 p.m. in Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville.
His wife, Florence (Hill) Leininger, died in 1990. His first wife, Margaret M. (Welder) Leininger, died in 1980.
Born in Fritztown, he was a son of the late Barton L. and Mabel (Weidman) Leininger.
Leininger had been employed for 30 years as a machinist by Arrow International, retiring in 1982. He also worked seven years as a security guard for Advance Security, Allentown.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Leininger is survived by two sons, Donald L., Pottsville, and Barton R., Reading; and a stepson, William R. Lafferty, Pottsville.
Other survivors include two sisters, Arlene (Leininger) Lacey, Orwigsburg, and Shirley (Hinnershitz) Lyons, West Wyomissing.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
