Marilyn Elizabeth Yergey

Marilyn E (Morrison) Yergey passed away peacefully at her residence on June 29th, 2026. Marilyn had many hobbies including spending time at the beach, playing the piano and going to the casinos which she often referred to as "her job". She was also fond of playing volleyball, bridge and bowling.

In earlier years she worked for Valley Forge Army Hospital in Phoenixville, Pa. During her years there she helped decorate and rode on their float in the annual Dogwood Parade. She was even voted Queen of the Dogwood Parade.

She graduated from Mount Penn High School in 1952 where she was captain of the cheerleading team. She also was on the basketball team and she was selected to sing in the state chorus. There, she met Shirley Jones who went on to become a celebrity. Shirley was one of many celebrities Marilyn met over her life and her family loved to hear her talk about everyone she met and the stories behind how the meetings came to be.

It was in 2nd grade where Marilyn met her soul mate, Gerald Yergey, whom she went on to wed and spend the next 52 years with until his passing in 2006. Together Marilyn and Gerald worked hard to obtain their dreams.

More than anything Marilyn loved spending time with her family, She was known for her unwavering kindness and compassion.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Cameron, her husband Gerald and her daughter Terri. She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Yergey) Neafcy, her granddaughters Krisit Reinert (John) and Ashley Brown (Michael), her great grandchildren Johnny, Devon, Paige, Jacob, Joshua, Cain, Vance, Riodan and Ronan, and her great-great grandchildren Emerie and Cole, and her 4 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers it was Marilyn's wish for donations to be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

She will remain in our hearts, always.
