In Loving Memory of Martin Garcia Valentin

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Martin Garcia Valentin, age 82, of Reading, Pennsylvania, on October 3, 2025. Martin was born on January 1, 1943 in Moca, Puerto Rico and was the son of the late Margaro Garcia Lopez and Pedra Valentin Garcia. He was a member of Spanish United Pentecostal Church in Reading.

A man of deep faith and unwavering love for his family, Martin lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and integrity. He was a loving husband, a proud father, and a respected member of his community who touched many lives with his warmth and wisdom.

Martin is survived by his beloved wife, Margarita Garcia, and his children: Luis Angel Garcia, Daniel Garcia, David Garcia, Jose Garcia, Mayra Garcia, Julio Garcia, Martin Garcia, Edgardo Garcia and 24 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Antonia Garcia and Julia Garcia.

His legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home 444 North 9th Street, Reading, PA, Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 12:00 pm. Pastor Ismael Mena will officiate. Interment will follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive relatives and friends at Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
