Mary Gilpin

Mary J. Gilpin, 64, of Reading, passed away July 1, 2010 at 3:00 am in St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Floyd Gilpin who passed away in 1997. Born in Blandon, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Elsie(Strausser) Dierolf. Mrs. Gilpin was employed as a Grill Operator for McDonald's on Lancaster Ave. in Reading from 1972-1977 then for the Reading Housing Authority in the cleaning department. She is survived by her son, Floyd R. Gilpin, Jr. of Reading and her daughter Karen V. Gilpin of Lorton, VA along with her grandchildren Spencer Kane, Angelica Gilpin, Khan Tokhi and Sadiqa Tokhi and her great granddaughter Colleen Kasmari. She is also survived by her brother Donald Dierolf of Robesonia and her sister Shirley Zimmerman of Topton. Graveside service will be held in Pricetown Cemetery Tuesday at 1:30 pm. The family will receive friends at Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 North 9th Street, Reading Tuesday 12-1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 625 West Ridge Pike, Suite A100, Conshohocken, PA 19428 in memory of Mrs. Mary J. Gilpin.
