Richard N. Kellenberger

Richard N. Kellenberger, 95, of Cumru Township, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Sinking Spring Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Donna A. Kellenberger, who passed away on March 16, 2022. Together they shared over 60 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Robert N. and Hilda (Neff) Kellenberger. He was a graduate of Reading High School Class of 1945. Richard served proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. During his life, he was employed as a Car Inspector for Norfolk Southern Yard in Lancaster, until retirement. Richard was a Mason and a former member of St. Marks UCC were he was the sexton for many years.

Richard is survived by his children, Keith A. Kellenberger, husband of Joan M., of Shillington; Richard K. Kellenberger, husband of Connie, of Hampton, Virginia; Sherryl Lynn Heller, of Dardanelle, AR; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home 444 North 9^th Street Reading, PA 19601 on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 10:15am. Masonic Service will be conducted by Reading Lodge No. 549 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00am-10:00am and on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
