Rita Dolores Parker

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Rita Parker, age 85, on October 9, 2026. Rita was a beloved wife, daughter, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.

She is remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, and her compassion for animals.

Born and raised in Reading and a graduate of Reading High School, Rita and her husband Richard married in Olean, New York, where they shared many happy times together with family. Returning to Reading, they established their longtime home and enjoyed life together along with their treasured family, friends, and pets. Always independent,

Rita spent many years working in retail and customer service and had a knack for helping customers find just the right perfume. Among other things, Rita loved the music of her time, dancing, chocolate, caramels, and ice cream.

Rita will be greatly missed by her loved ones, with whom she recently shared some of her life lessons � always be true to yourself, and Live Great, because life goes by fast. Rita will be interred with her husband following a private celebration of life.
