Robert Meas

Robert J. Meas, 89, of Hamburg and formerly of Wyomissing Hills, passed away August 2, 2011 at 9:48 AM in Lehigh Hospital where he was a patient for one month. He was predeceased by his longtime companion of Harry A. Bennett on June 25, 1993. Born in Reading on July 3, 1922, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sarah M. (Schaeffer) Meas. Mr. Meas was a 1936 graduate of Reading High School. He was a US Army veteran of World War 2, having received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, and the Asiatic and Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star. He was employed for 15 years as a supervisor at Camp Hosiery in Reading, retiring in 1988. Mr. Meas is survived by a niece Sue (Meas) Boyer and a nephew John Meas. Graveside Services will be Monday at 10:00 AM in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Rev. Robin L. Henry will officiate.
