Robert Zimmerman

Robert L. Zimmerman, 89, of Reinholds, with whom he resided with his daughter Debra, passed away May 11, 2015. He was the widower of Dolores S. (Smith) Zimmerman, who passed away November 22, 2000. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Jay and Alvesta (Squibb) Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman served in the US Navy during WWII. He was employed at RCA in Lancaster as a Machinist for 37 years, retiring in 1987. Some of the many things Robert enjoyed was fishing and hiking at Blue Marsh Lake, painting and woodworking. He especially loved telling stories about the war and singing to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved dogs, especially Bruiser and Bella. Surviving are his loving daughters Debra A. (Zimmerman) Madeira, companion of Tom Kriczky, Reinholds; Lisa A. (Zimmerman) Schlappich, wife of Randy, Wernerville; 6 grandchildren, Vanessa Pack, Tiffany Hartranft, Alyssa DiSalvatore, Randy Schlappich, Jr, Chase Schlappich and Ryan Schlappich; 4 great-grandchildren Gaven, Brayden, Landon and Amaya. He was predeceased by 6 siblings.
