Russel J. Focht, 87, of Laureldale, passed away on February 23, 2016 at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Born in Brownsville, PA he was the son of the late Richard Focht and Lillie (Koch) Burkhart.
Mr. Focht was US Army Veteran, serving his country during the Korean War, earning the rank of Corporal. Later in life he was employed as a Press Operator at Molley Manufacturing and as a machine operator at Textile Machine and Trim Master. Russel was a very caring person, tending to his wife Doris throughout her Alzheimer's illness.
He is predeceased by his wife: Doris M. (Seidel) Focht and children: Marie Bem and James R. Focht.
Survivors include his son: Jeffery J. Focht, husband of Julie of Kenhorst. 6 grandchildren. 16 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at Whelan-Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N.9th Street, Reading, on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 10:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9-10:00AM. The interment will follow at St. John's (Hains) Church Cemetery in Wernersville.
