Shirley Bender

Shirley J. Bender 75, of Reading, passed away May 29, 2010 at 4:25 PM in ManorCare Health Services in Spring Twp., where she resided for 4 weeks. Born in Reading on January 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Emily F. (Bowman) Bender. Shirley was employed for 8 years by Brentwood Plastics. Surviving are a sister Audrey Drexel of Leesport, a brother Reuben Bender of Arizona and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Monday at 10:00 AM in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. 9th Street, Reading. Rev. Rebecca Knox will officiate. Friends will be received Monday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment in Alsace Cemetery.
