In Loving Memory of Sonia Rodriguez December 17, 2025 | Age 76
On December 17, 2025, our hearts were forever changed as we said goodbye to Sonia Rodriguez, 76, of Manhattan, New York
A woman whose love was the foundation of our family and whose presence filled every room with warmth, laughter, and life.
Sonia was more than a mother, wife, grandmother, and matriarch. She was the glue that held us together. She was our strength when we felt weak, our voice of encouragement when we doubted ourselves, and the steady hands that guided us through life. She shaped generations with her faith, her values, and her unwavering belief in each of us. She reminded us who we were, where we came from, and never let us forget our worth.
She lived a life of sacrifice and selflessness, always putting her family first. Her home was a place of refuge; a place where bellies were filled, hearts were comforted, and no one ever felt alone. In moments of need, she opened her doors without hesitation and wrapped us in the kind of love that made everything feel possible again. She raised not only her children, but her grandchildren too, giving them stability, protection, and unconditional love. When life became overwhelming, she was the one they ran to and she was always ready to listen, to protect, and to love without judgment.
Sonia was full of life, light, and joy. She loved music, dancing, and cooking, and turned ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. Every meal she prepared carried love. Every song made her dance. Every gathering felt complete because she was there; Laughing, teasing, celebrating, and reminding us how precious life truly was. There was never a dull moment with Sonia. She was the life of the party, yet also the calm in the chaos and the heart of every home and the soul of every family moment.
She was forgiving, nurturing, endlessly loving, and deeply devoted to keeping her family together. She delighted in our lives, our milestones, our struggles, and our successes. She was our loudest cheerleader, our greatest protector, and our safe place in a complicated world.
Sonia is survived by her devoted husband, Carlos Rodriguez; her children, Norma Galarza, Marisol Munoz, Juan Galarza, and Sonia Purello; and her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will carry her love, lessons, and laughter with them for the rest of their lives.
Though her physical presence is gone, Sonia's spirit lives on in every meal shared, every song played, every dance, every value passed down, and every act of love that keeps this family together. She was our heart. She always will be.
