It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Smith, a devoted father and passionate farmer, who left this world on June 24, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on May 6, 1933, in Jamaica, Stanley's life was characterized by his unwavering love for his family and his tireless dedication to farming.
Stanley was a self-employed farmer who derived great joy from the land he tended. His work was a reflection of his character, hardworking, dedicated, and deeply connected to nature. An active individual who never sat still, he enjoyed riding his bicycle and embracing the beauty of the world around him.
In addition to his farming, Stanley had a fondness for drama-filled television shows, often found watching episodes of Jerry Springer, Maury, and exciting UFC fights. He was a spirited and lively presence who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Stanley is survived by his loving family, including daughters Suethe Phillips, Julie Smith, Aeishe Smith, Surethe Smith, Lorraine Smith, and Margaret Smith, as well as sons Kevin Smith and Ralston Smith and many grandchildren. His unwavering support for his family was an enduring hallmark of his life, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
A family viewing will be held on July 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Whelan Schwartz Funeral home, 444 N. 9th Street Reading PA. Stanley will be lay to rest in his birth country of Jamaica at a later date.
Stanley Smith will be remembered for his indomitable spirit, love for his family, and the lasting impact he made in the lives he touched.
