Thomas Swisher

Thomas L. Swisher, 72, of Brecknock Twp., passed away August 5, 2015 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
He was the husband of Ruthie J. (Machuzick) Swisher; they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John L. and Lillian A. (Blatt) Swisher.
Thomas proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. He was employed at Red Star as a truck driver for over 20 years. Thomas was a life time member of VFW post # 9045.
Surviving in addition to his wife Ruthie, are sons, Anthony J. Swisher, Flying Hills; Stephen T. Swisher, fiancAC. of Abby Kissinger, Mohnton; Tim B. Swisher, husband of Meggan, Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren Savannah, Nikki, Connor, Cali, Ryan and a brother Michael Swisher, Mohnton.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Thomas' memory to Berks County PA Vietnam Veterans of America, P.O. Box 13735, Reading, PA 19612.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
