Thomas H. Welsh, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 19th, 2026, with his family by his side. Tom was predeceased by almost 6 months by his wonderful wife Gemma. Tom and Gemma, who started dating at their high school prom, were married for 74 years.
Tom is survived by his three daughters, JoAnn (Ernie) Morrell, Diane(Joe) Wojciechowski, and Beth(Mike) Shor, and his loving grandchildren, Chris (Rebecca) Morrell, Lauren (Chris) Swartz, Matt Wojciechowski, Kelly (Pete) Wojciechowski, Jessica (Gregg) Wisniewski, and Jaclyn (Josh) Margolis. He was also the very proud great-grandfather of seven: Susannah, June, Ella, Maddie, Emma, Olivia, and Lenni.
Tom, or as he was known to them, Tommy, was predeceased by his very much loved 7 older siblings. Tom was born in Jeddo, Pa. to Ann Bonnick Welsh and Lawrence Welsh. He spent most of his childhood and early married life in Bethlehem, before relocating to the Reading area where he and Gemma raised their 3 girls. Tom could fix anything, and took great joy in home projects, accumulating tools, and making well crafted gifts for his family. He was joyfully working on his projects and gifts until the end.
Tom used his skills and entrepreneurial spirit to, with Gemma, start and successfully run a sewing manufacturing plant for many years. Tom loved bridge and all sports, including golf, and wore very colorful golf attire that somehow always looked good on him. Most of all, Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
