William Kulp

William Jerry Kulp, 82, of Reading, passed away on May 18, 2021 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.  Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Russell Conwell and Dorothy Elizabeth (Bickel) Kulp.  William was the life companion of Marie Hyneman, together they shared 37 years of love and happiness.  William served his country in the United States Navy and was able to travel to the Philippines, where he found his favorite beer, San Miguel.  He was a steelworker for Bethlehem Steel, later was a bartender at the local VFW before deciding to officially retire.  In his younger years, William enjoyed deep sea fishing and hunting with his sons.  William was always passionate about woodworking and made many beautiful pieces.  After retiring, William and Marie loved to go camping.  They even had a permanent space at the Pennsylvania Dutch Campgrounds.

In addition to his life companion, Marie Hyneman, William is survived by his sons, Keith A. Kulp, husband of Tami of Shartlesville, and David S. Kulp, husband of Cheryl of Leesport.  Also surviving are his grandchildren; Jeni Umbenhauer, wife of Jamie, Jared Kulp, husband of Janene, Kate Souder, wife of Steve, Tyler Kulp and Jeremy Martin-Delp, also his great grandchildren, Marshall and Stone, and his siblings; Doris Kulp, Henry Kulp, Russell Kulp, and Kenny Kulp.  He is preceded in death by his brothers; Donald Kulp, Ralph Kulp, Larry Kulp, and Richard Kulp.
