David Wagner, Sr.

David L. Wagner, Sr., 81, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 6:39 am at Reading Hospital.  Born in Boyertown, Mr. Wagner was the son of the late John H. and Erma B. (Moser) Wagner.  He was employed as a shipper at Conestoga Wood for 20 years, retiring in 2006.  Mr. Wagner is survived by his sons, Ronald L. Wagner of Exeter Township; Rodney A. Wagner, husband of Heather Wagner of Douglassville; David L. Wagner, Jr., husband of Robin Wagner of Douglassville; step-son, John Trabosh of West Lawn; and step-daughter, Jodyann (Trabosh) Impink, wife of Bruce Impink of Mohrsville.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rodney J. Wagner, husband of Beth Wagner; Autumn A. Kramer, wife of Kyle Kramer; and Timothy. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Avery, Brayden, and Kinsley.  Also surviving is his brother, Paul Wagner of Douglassville and was preceded in death by his brothers Ralph, Lester, Charles and his companion, June J. Trabosh.

He was a lifetime member of Monarch Fire Company, Douglassville, where he served as Fire Chief. He was also a member of West End Fire Company of Stowe, Phillies Fire Department of Pottstown, the Berks County Fireman’s Association, and the Neversink Rod and Gun Club.  He was a pioneer in the formation of the  Birdsboro Ambulance Association, which is one of his most notable and proud personal accomplishments.

He was so very proud of his family and loved each of them dearly. He loved taking and collecting photographs and memorabilia of his family, which was evidence of the many pictures adorning his home.

Interment and services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Monarch Fire Company, 50 Pennsylvania Avenue, Douglassville, PA 19518. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 North 9th Street is in charge of arrangements.
