George Debo

April 23, 1927 — November 3, 2020

George A. Debo, 93 passed away November 2, 2020 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.  He was the son of the late Albert and Malki (Loup) Debo.  George is survived by his niece, Beth Burmeister and husband Steve of Clifton, VA; nephew William H. Brown, Jr. and sons Ben and Scott of Manalapan, FL; and nephew Ernest Nassif, Jr. and wife Margie of Ocala, FL.  He is also survived by close friends that Mr. Debo considered family:  Diana and Michael Hydock of Freeland, PA.  George proudly served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II.  He later received a master’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University and had a distinguished career as an artist and professor.  George’s passion for art is evidenced by his numerous One-Man Shows, Exhibits and Art Awards, too numerous to mention.  His rich and impressionistic  renderings of the Pennsylvania landscape reflect his understanding of the delicate balance between love of nature, our beautiful planet and the creative process.  He has uplifted many young people and helped them to reach their full potential.  George was also very involved in the collection of art and artifacts, once owning the largest collection of Civil War guns.  A private graveside service at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.  On line condolences may be made at www.whelanschwartz.com.
