Larry S. Reber, 79, of Laureldale, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at the Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband to Patricia (Broome), who passed, August 2014. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Stephen George and Ruth Elizabeth (Althouse) Reber. Larry was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School, and after graduation served in the United States Army, during Vietnam in the 716th Military Police division returning home Christmas 1965. He worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber from 1966 until they closed, then worked at Dietrich's Milk Products for over 25 years before retiring. Larry had a love of O gauge trains and had his running every day on his layout.  He enjoyed watching for deer and running his RC truck from his son’s back porch and also had a love of classic cars and enjoyed many car shows with his sons back in the day.  He also loved his cantankerous cat Gabby.

Larry is survived by his sister, Lyndell Reese, his children, Bryan S. Reber, husband of Wanda, Bradley S. Reber, and stepson, John C. Schwambach Jr., husband of Cathy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kassondra Lee Kulp, Joshua James Schwambach, and great grandchild, Christopher James Czeiner.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at Pleasant View Cemetery, 650 Fritztown Road, Reading. Contributions can be made to Vietnam Veterans of America in Larry's honor. Online condolences may be made to www.whelanschwartz.com
