Norman Slater

Norman C. Slater, 93, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital.  He is survived by his wife Irene A. (Lucas) Slater and together would have celebrated 73 years of marriage in August.  Born in Reading, Mr. Slater was the son of the late Chester Snyder Slater and Anna (Reichardt) Slater.  He was employed by Vanity Fair in Reading for 36 years holding various titles until his retirement in 1987.  In addition to his wife, Mr. Slater is survived by his daughters Gail H. Erwin, wife of Dennis L. Erwin of Broomfield, Colorado; Michelle Renee Slater Gibson, wife of Jason Eric Gibson of Muhlenberg Township; his granddaughter Renee Michelle Gibson; and his sister-in-law Jeanette Firek of Reading.
